Art belongs in your life

Buying original art is more than acquiring an object that takes up space; buying art should always be about connecting, feeling and thinking.

Exploring what kinds of art your respond to can help you learn about yourself and find common ground with other people.

The Dayton Visual Arts Center offers original works of art made by local and regional artists, in all media and price ranges. If you are looking for art that will make your space come to life, and you don't want to search far and wide, visit Art Source to find out just how exciting and affordable the Dayton art market is.

Art makes the best gifts, too! Perhaps you've already discovered our holiday gift gallery that brings together "giftable" fine art and fine craft from more than 100 artists. If you haven't found us in between First and Second streets yet, or if you're curious about how we are expanding this program, you'll want to spend some time with ARTtoBUY.

Art Source

The Dayton Visual Arts Center (DVAC) is the best place to start your search for art that does more than just take up wall space. We started Art Source as a resource for corporations, professionals and individuals who want art that suits them.

DVAC helps connect the public to local art and the individuals creating it. Whether you are looking for a traditional landscape or a dynamic abstract, or something else altogether, we can give you choices that will fit your tastes and your budget.

DVAC is a nonprofit organization with a membership of artists and art patrons who value the visual arts as an integral part of our community. We have more than 450 artist members working in all kinds of media and styles, and Art Source is one way we help put you in touch with these talented individuals. Discover Art Source today, and fill your heart and mind as well as your walls.

We always have art for sale

... and it's usually in the gallery. But sometimes it's in the office. If it's something you saw in the gallery last month or last year, or bid on but didn't get at the auction last spring, we still might be able to help you. We might have to make a phone call or two and arrange for you to see a piece. We can do that.

Because DVAC's primary function is not as a sales gallery, we don't require that artists only show work that is available for purchase. So sometimes you can't buy what's showing. But we always have art for sale.

And many times, the work in our gallery is for sale. Don't be shy about asking for a price list, or if the artist has other works available. We're here to help you. And there's no pressure, just because you've asked. We want you to be sure you've found the right piece for your collection.
